He expressed his satisfaction with the smooth and successful conduct of the proceedings throughout all 21 LGAs.“So far, so good. In the many local governments we have visited, we are impressed with the early and significant turnout of delegates, who participated in large numbers to either cast votes for their candidates or affirm consensus candidates,” he stated. He further noted that the evident unity among party members in the visited areas was encouraging and served as a positive indicator for the party’s prospects in the 2027 general elections, particularly given the focused leadership at the national level.Aliyu-Goronyo explained that the electoral process involved voting by delegates in constituencies with contested positions, while consensus candidates were formally affirmed in others. He also commended the pivotal role played by youth and women, praising their impressive turnout and disciplined conduct throughout the process.“The turnout of women and youth is impressive in several polling units. Women came out in large numbers and maintained order while awaiting the start of elections. Even when men were moving around, the women stayed in line, which was quite commendable,” he added. In his remarks, Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd), the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate for Kebbi in the 2023 elections, lauded the security agencies, representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and media organizations for their roles in ensuring the exercise was conducted seamlessly.“We are now looking forward to the State Executive Congress (SEC) on Sept. 27. Once that is completed, we are confident of having a great chance to emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections at all levels in the country,” Bande said.
