Ibadan, June 12, 2026 – A political group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure that party members who played key roles in the 2023 electoral victory are adequately recognised and accommodated in government programmes and appointments.
The appeal was made in a Democracy Day statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the APC Justice Forum, Chief Kolawole Koleoso, and its Secretary, Alhaji Olasupo Anisere, on Friday in Ibadan.
The group stressed that democratic governance is strengthened when individuals who contribute to electoral success and defend the mandate of the electorate are not overlooked after elections.
According to the forum, commitment, loyalty, and active participation at the grassroots level are vital to sustaining party structures and reinforcing democratic values across the country.
It noted that as the current administration continues to implement its Renewed Hope agenda, attention should be given to party faithful in Oyo State who remained steadfast during the 2023 electioneering process.
The forum maintained that the efforts of APC supporters at the ward and community levels were instrumental in mobilising voters and advancing the party’s interests during the elections.
It observed that many members worked tirelessly to secure support for the party without seeking personal benefits, relying instead on their belief in the administration’s vision for national development.
Describing such members as critical stakeholders in the democratic process, the group said continued engagement and recognition would help sustain their confidence in the party.
The forum therefore urged the President to ensure that future appointments, empowerment initiatives, and federal government interventions reflect the contributions of loyal APC members in Oyo State.
It added that acknowledging their efforts would send a positive message to grassroots supporters and demonstrate that dedication to the party is appreciated.
The group also called on political leaders, government officials, and media organisations to recognise the important role played by grassroots mobilisers in maintaining democratic stability and party growth.
The statement concluded that rewarding commitment and service would not only strengthen party unity but also encourage greater participation in the democratic process ahead of future elections.
