Over N219 Million Raised for ADC in Imo by Udenwa, Ihedioha and Others

Former Imo Governors Chief Achike Udenwa and Chief Emeka Ihedioha, together with other party members, successfully mobilised N219.7 million in support of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The fundraising occurred during the ADC’s stakeholders’ meeting held in Owerri on Tuesday.

Udenwa described the ADC as the leading opposition party in Imo and explained that the funds would be directed toward strengthening the party’s activities across the state.

He praised party supporters for their dedication, noting that their loyalty had elevated Imo’s prominence within the party at both zonal and national levels.

Udenwa expressed confidence that the ADC would challenge and eventually replace the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the state and national levels.
“We may be the underdogs, but we’ll put the ruling party in their place after the elections. We will uproot the APC,” he said.

Ihedioha also thanked the state chairman, Prof. James Okoroma, and his team for their leadership and urged continued backing for the party.

Okoroma said the meeting provided an opportunity for party leaders to discuss strategies for addressing potential future challenges.

He voiced optimism that the ADC would succeed in the 2027 general elections at both state and national levels and called on party members to embrace what he described as their “constitutional duty” to remove the APC from power.
“We will remove them from power; it is a generational responsibility. It will not be easy, but it must be done,” Okoroma said.

The party also welcomed new members from other political groups, including Chief Paul Mbadiwe, son of the late former Minister of Aviation in the First Republic, Kingsley Mbadiwe, and several former chieftains of the Labour Party.
