The Ooni of Ife has praised Olubukola Babajide as an outstanding Nigerian whose achievements continue to enhance the country’s global reputation.
Babajide, Founder of Crystal Options Ltd and a female tech entrepreneur, was recently listed in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours and recognised for her contributions to technology, business innovation and social inclusion.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Ile-Ife by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Palace, Mr Moses Olafare, the monarch congratulated her on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
The Ooni said the recognition reflects Babajide’s years of dedication, innovation and commitment to empowering individuals and communities through technology and entrepreneurship.
He noted that her honour brings pride not only to Nigerians at home and abroad but also to the African continent, adding that her achievements highlight the global impact of Nigerian professionals.
According to him, her work in technology advancement, business development and inclusion has demonstrated the value of providing opportunities for individuals to excel regardless of background.
The traditional ruler commended her consistent efforts to promote diversity in the tech ecosystem and her role in creating opportunities for women, young professionals and underrepresented groups in the digital economy.
