Ododo Commends Jibrin-Echocho’s Mega Empowerment Programme in Kogi

Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has praised Senator Isah Jibrin-Echocho for organising a large-scale empowerment programme for residents of Anyigba and other parts of Kogi East.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Elder Joel Salifu, described the initiative as a clear example of people-focused leadership while inaugurating the programme on Wednesday in Anyigba.

He said programmes that prioritise empowerment help reduce poverty, create economic opportunities, improve livelihoods and promote sustainable development across communities.

Ododo stressed the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government, noting that the empowerment initiative reflected a productive partnership aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

He commended the senator for aligning with his administration’s agenda of building a people-centred government with strong focus on youths, women, small-scale businesses and agricultural development.

The governor congratulated beneficiaries of the programme and urged them to make wise use of the items received to improve their lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Items distributed during the empowerment programme included buses, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, engine boats, grinding machines and laptops, among others.

Earlier, Senator Jibrin-Echocho, who represents Kogi East Senatorial District, said the initiative was designed to ease economic hardship among his constituents.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for his leadership, noting that the empowerment programme aligned with the governor’s development vision for the state.

According to him, the initiative was structured to reach a wide range of beneficiaries, counter misinformation and provide practical support to residents facing economic challenges.

The event attracted party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers and beneficiaries from the nine local government areas in Kogi East Senatorial District.
