The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has overhauled its leadership structure in Katsina State, expressing strong confidence ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The party elected and affirmed new executive officers on Monday during its state congress in Katsina, monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The congress, described as peaceful and well-coordinated, is part of NNPP’s broader strategy to strengthen its political base before the next polls.
Chairman of the Congress Committee and member of the Kano State House of Assembly representing Fagge Constituency, Alhaji Tukur Muhammad-Fagge, commended the exercise, saying the smooth affirmation of unopposed candidates demonstrated the party’s maturity and internal stability.
He noted that while some key officers—including State Chairman Abdulkadir—retained their positions, new members were also brought into the executive team to reposition the party for greater competitiveness.
“This process mirrors the strength of your internal democracy and your readiness to lead by example,” Muhammad-Fagge said.
He applauded stakeholders for their professionalism and urged the newly elected leaders to embrace humility, inclusiveness and full commitment to the electorate. He stressed that the quality of leadership they provide would influence not just the party’s prospects, but also contribute to national democratic growth.
Responding on behalf of the new executives, State Chairman Abdulkadir thanked delegates for their trust and pledged to lead with integrity, transparency, and renewed determination to secure victory for the NNPP in 2027.
He said the party was poised for a strong showing in the next election cycle with collective effort and divine support. Abdulkadir also acknowledged the guidance of the NNPP’s national leader, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, adding that the country still needs his leadership.
Among the 37 executive members elected were:

- Alhaji Tijjani Zakaria, Secretary
- Alhaji Sani Arga, Deputy Chairman, Katsina Zone
- Alhaji Mani Ibrahim-Jani, Vice Chairman, Daura Zone
