The highly anticipated Nollywood blockbuster, “Nini: A Tale of Betrayal and Triumph,” has officially premiered in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The red-carpet event, held on Sunday night at Silverbird Cinema, Jabi Lake Mall, brought together filmmakers, actors, and fans in a night filled with glamour and celebration. The movie, produced by Fedmas Studios and directed by renowned filmmaker Sam Idiagbonya, has been described as a gripping mix of action, intrigue, and emotion.
The star-studded cast features industry veterans such as Jide Kosoko, Keppy Ekpenyong, and Francis Duru, alongside lead actress Maria Ogwuashi, who plays the titular role of Nini. Other cast members include Antar Laniyan, Yemi Blaq, Tina Mba, Chimezie Imo, Damilola Ogunsi, Chinyere Wilfred, Mariah Ugbashi, Tony Goodman, Sydney Diala, Patricia Charles, and Maryann Apollo.
Shot across scenic locations in Abuja and Nasarawa, the two-hour film explores themes of love, betrayal, and resilience. The story follows Nini, a young woman whose happiness is suddenly disrupted, leading to a clash with her mother’s beliefs and a chain of events filled with betrayal, life lessons, and eventual triumph.
Speaking at the premiere, producer Sam Idiagbonya explained that the story reflects everyday realities in African society, a hallmark of his style of realistic storytelling. He revealed that the film will be released in cinemas nationwide on October 3.
The premiere attracted several high-profile guests, including former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and Pastor Sam Oye of The Transforming Church Worldwide, among other dignitaries.
