The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd has embraced the Federal Government’s Performance Management System (PMS) as part of efforts to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery.
The move followed a three-day capacity-building programme organised in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, according to a statement by NIGCOMSAT’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr Stephen Kwande.
The training covered key areas including the FCSSI25 performance framework for the Federal Civil and Public Service, service culture and workplace attitude, the practical implementation of PMS within NIGCOMSAT, and the application of Artificial Intelligence tools to enhance organisational performance.
The programme is aimed at promoting accountability, reinforcing professionalism, and embedding a service-driven culture across the public sector.
Speaking through the Executive Director, Mr Abiodun Attah, the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, Mrs Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, described the adoption of PMS as timely and essential for aligning the organisation’s operations with national performance objectives.
She noted that the system would help position the agency to meet evolving expectations in public service delivery.
Also speaking, the General Manager, Human Resources, Mrs Chinwe Udogu, encouraged staff to actively participate in the training, describing it as a crucial step toward repositioning NIGCOMSAT for optimal performance.
The training consultant, Mrs Chioma Njoku, said the initiative would support cultural transformation, automate work processes and strengthen institutional efficiency, adding that PMS adoption represents a significant move toward improved accountability and effectiveness.
