New AIG Zone 14: Nadada Officially Assumes Office in Katsina

Mr. Umar Nadada has officially taken office as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) overseeing Zone 14, which includes Kaduna and Katsina States, with headquarters in Katsina.

According to the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Umar Muhammad, Nadada is a professional officer committed to effective policing, crime prevention, and building public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.

The officer noted that Nadada, a highly experienced police official, has served in diverse operational, investigative, and administrative roles across the country.

Nadada hails from Rano Local Government Area of Kano State and holds a B.Sc. in Applied Biology from Bayero University, Kano (1989), as well as a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ, 2010) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and completed professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex in Kaduna.

Muhammad added that Nadada rose steadily through the ranks to become AIG, serving in key positions including Commissioner of Police in Katsina and Nasarawa States, as well as AIG in the Department of Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, Abuja.

His appointment is expected to strengthen policing operations and enhance coordination across the states under Zone 14.
