Ned Nwoko Denies Receiving $350m in Paris Club Refund Controversy

Senator Ned Nwoko (APC–Delta) has dismissed reports alleging that his company received $350 million linked to the Paris Club refund, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement issued by his media team in Abuja on Friday, the lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District said he was reacting to what he called a “malicious” publication circulating on Sahara Reporters regarding the long-standing Paris Club refund issue.

Nwoko insisted that the allegations were a distortion of established facts, noting that the matter had already been reviewed by multiple investigative bodies.

He stated that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had conducted four separate investigations into the issue, including a recent reassessment ordered by the current administration, all of which, according to him, reached the same conclusion that contractual services were duly executed and that any outstanding payments were legitimate under existing agreements.

The senator added that official records from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria support the documented payments process, which he said is subject to strict audit procedures.

He also denied allegations suggesting any improper dealings involving the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, describing such claims as baseless.

Nwoko further alleged that certain individuals, including George Uboh and Omoyele Sowore, were behind what he termed a coordinated misinformation campaign targeted at him for political or personal reasons.

He disclosed that legal action had been initiated against those behind what he described as defamatory publications.

The senator maintained that no “fresh claims” existed in relation to the matter and firmly stated that neither he nor his company ever received $350 million. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, due process, and the rule of law.
