NAF, NSCDC Pledge Deeper Collaboration to Boost Security in Katsina

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have reiterated their commitment to strengthening collaboration and intelligence sharing to enhance internal security and protect critical national assets in Katsina State.

The renewed resolve was underscored on Wednesday in Katsina during a courtesy visit by Air Commodore C.E. Illoh, Joint Force Air Component Commander, Operation Fansan Yamma Sector II, to the NSCDC state command. Illoh also serves as the Commander of the 213 Forward Operating Base (FOB), NAF Katsina.

Speaking during the visit, Illoh highlighted the long-standing cordial relationship between the NAF and the NSCDC in the state, describing the corps as a strategic partner in Nigeria’s internal security architecture.

He noted that the NSCDC occupies a “special and unique position” in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, stressing the need for sustained synergy, collaboration and timely sharing of credible intelligence among security agencies to effectively address emerging security threats.

In his response, the Katsina State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Abbas Moriki, welcomed the Air Component Commander and commended the NAF for its sustained efforts in tackling the lingering security challenges confronting the state.

Moriki reaffirmed the strong working relationship between the two agencies and assured that the NSCDC was ready to further deepen collaboration with the NAF in the interest of peace, safety and security in Katsina State.
