The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the killing of more than 15 terrorists during precision airstrikes on a newly discovered hideout west of Zuwa in the Sambisa area of Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out on Wednesday under Operation Hadin Kai.
Ejodame explained that the strikes followed credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance, which revealed that the enclave was being used by fighters and commanders responsible for recent attacks around Bitta.
He said the airstrikes destroyed key structures and dealt significant losses to the terrorists.
The NAF spokesperson noted that the operation reflected the Force’s professionalism and commitment to supporting ground troops while safeguarding Nigerians.
“Every successful strike takes us a step closer to lasting peace by weakening terrorist networks,” Ejodame added.
