The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out coordinated air operations that destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns and Mandara Mountains along the Nigeria–Cameroon border under Operation HADIN KAI.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strikes were executed on May 19 at Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains.
He explained that the missions were based on credible intelligence, supported by surveillance and reconnaissance operations that confirmed terrorist presence in the targeted locations.
According to him, the precision strikes destroyed logistics bases, structures, and assembly points used by the terrorists for coordination and operations.
He added that several fighters were neutralised during the attack, while planned terrorist activities in the affected areas were disrupted.
Ejodame noted that the Air Force remains committed to sustaining offensive operations aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities and denying them operational freedom.
He also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, as reaffirming the Force’s determination to continue working closely with other security agencies and international partners.
According to him, intelligence-led air missions will be intensified to locate and eliminate terrorist camps, supply routes, and operational bases across the country.
The Air Force said the ongoing operations are part of wider efforts to restore lasting peace and stability in the North-East and other affected regions.
