Musa Nimrod Re-Elected President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation

Musa Nimrod has secured another four-year term as President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), following an unopposed victory at the federation’s elective congress held on Monday at the Indoor Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Nimrod, who received all 16 votes cast, will continue his leadership after a tenure widely credited with advancing volleyball development both in Nigeria and internationally.

In his remarks after the election, Nimrod emphasized that his administration would focus on new initiatives to further elevate the sport.

“We are not dwelling on past achievements but on what lies ahead. Over the next four years, our priority will remain grassroots development,” he said.

He explained that the federation already has structured pathways across age categories, from U-15 through to the senior level, and that major volleyball tours will be strengthened with support from experienced staff and mentors. Nimrod also expressed optimism about attracting more sponsors to sustain and expand NVBF programs.

Looking ahead, he highlighted a packed competition schedule for Nigerian teams, including the U-21 Volleyball Championship in Mexico, the U-18 World Championship in Qatar, the Senior World Volleyball Championship in Australia, the African Youth Games in Angola, and the World Schools Games in China.

“With elections now concluded, our focus is on action. Once inaugurated by the National Sports Commission, the newly elected board will commence full operations,” Nimrod stated.
