Man Arraigned in Ibadan Court for Allegedly Stealing Motorcycle Worth N650,000

A 29-year-old man, Damola Bankole, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over the alleged theft of a motorcycle valued at N650,000.

Bankole, whose residential address was not disclosed, is facing charges of conspiracy and stealing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, David Adepoju, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Dec. 29, 2025, at about 7:10 a.m. in the Ido area of Ibadan.

Adepoju alleged that Bankole conspired with other individuals, who are currently at large, to steal a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to Mr. Oyewumi Kolawole.

According to the prosecutor, the suspect was later apprehended following police investigations.

He said the offences contravene Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Kausarat Ayofe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until May 18 for hearing.
