Ilorin, May 11, 2026 Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced the suspension of its Top-Up/HND Conversion programme beginning from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin by the university’s Registrar, Mrs Kikelomo Sallee.
According to the statement, the action was taken in line with directives issued by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the body responsible for regulating university education in Nigeria.
Sallee explained that the university would no longer admit or run the Top-Up/HND Conversion programme from the specified academic session as part of efforts to comply with existing regulatory guidelines.
She added that the NUC is expected to provide further clarification regarding the status and academic progression of students already enrolled in the programme at the institution.
The university assured affected students and members of the public that additional information would be communicated once further directives are received from the regulatory authorities.
