Rep. Aminu Balele, representing the Kurfi/Dutsinma Federal Constituency in Katsina State, has sponsored the training of about 300 youths on digital skills.
The programme, themed “Digital Creators, Future Leaders: Empowering Youth to Shape a Positive Online World”, was launched on Wednesday in Kurfi.
Organised by the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) in collaboration with Salhanny International Ltd. and Atar Communications Ltd., the intensive training is scheduled to run from Aug. 20–24.
Speaking at the opening session, Malam Balarabe Muhammad-Bello, Group General Manager of Atar Communications, described the initiative as timely, noting the growing influence of social and electronic media in shaping public opinion and creating opportunities for young people. He added that both male and female beneficiaries would be trained by renowned media experts and academicians.
Prof. Yahuza Sulaiman-Imam, Registrar of NBAIS, who was represented by Malam Muhammad Kabir-Adamu, Head of Training and Development Unit, appreciated the lawmaker for sponsoring the programme. He reminded participants of the examination opportunities provided by NBAIS, emphasising that its certificates are recognised nationwide.
Sulaiman-Imam urged the youths to work hard during the training and to transfer the knowledge gained to others in their communities, thereby multiplying the impact across the constituency.
