Lagos, June 6, 2026 – The Ijaw Nation Development Group (INDG) has extended warm congratulations to Mr. Regent Youmor, former President of the Ijaw Community in Lagos State, as he marked his 70th birthday on Saturday.
In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Ephraim Sobere Owoh, the group described Youmor as a man whose life has been defined by wisdom, resilience, dedicated service and meaningful contributions to humanity.
INDG also commended him as a Peace Ambassador, noting his reputation as a respected Ijaw figure and a detribalised Nigerian who has consistently promoted unity and harmony.
The group said the milestone was worth celebrating, adding that reaching 70 years reflected God’s grace, mercy and faithfulness throughout his life journey.
It prayed for continued blessings upon him, asking for good health, greater wisdom, peace of mind and renewed strength to further contribute to the development of Ijaw land and Nigeria as a whole.
Also speaking on the occasion, motivational speaker Alaere Kemi Levi praised Youmor’s leadership qualities, describing him as a man whose influence has positively impacted both the Ijaw nation and the wider Nigerian society.
She said he had consistently demonstrated wisdom in his counsel, offering guidance with patience, maturity and genuine concern for others.
Levi further noted that Youmor had remained a strong advocate of peace, unity and reconciliation, stressing that he avoids conflict and promotes understanding in all situations.
According to her, he has continued to exemplify lifelong service and commitment to humanity through his actions and leadership.
She prayed for divine blessings upon him, including sound health, protection and lasting peace, while also asking for continued wisdom to guide future generations.
In his remarks, Youmor expressed gratitude to God for grace and longevity, saying he remained thankful for the opportunity to witness 70 years.
He urged Ijaw youths and Nigerians at large to shun violence, greed and other social vices, while embracing peaceful coexistence and lawful conduct.
“I appeal to Nigerians to continue to live in peace and harmony,” he said, noting his role as a Peace Ambassador under the Ijaw Nations Forum, an honour conferred on him by Ijaw communities in America and Europe.
