FG Hails Nigeria Reputation Perception Index Report 2025

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has commended the Nigeria Reputation Perception Index Report 2025 produced by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Idris gave the commendation in a goodwill message at the public presentation of the report held in Abuja.

the study was produced by NIPR in collaboration with Reputation Perception Services.

Represented by the Director of Publicity and Public Relations in the ministry, Dr Suleiman Haruna, the minister praised the President of NIPR, Dr Ike Neliaku, for consistently bringing national reputation issues to public discourse.

He said the report provides valuable data that government can deploy to address negative stereotypes and perceptions that hinder patriotism and national development.

“By clearly demonstrating how perception shapes reality, this report serves as a strategic asset for informing public policy, driving reforms, strengthening engagement and improving investment inflows,” Idris said.

The minister also commended initiatives such as the National Values Charter and the National Reputation Management Group, describing them as critical to nation-building.

According to him, the administration of President Bola Tinubu recognises that reputation is closely tied to governance performance.

“If you do well, your reputation grows; otherwise, it declines,” he said.

Idris noted that the Tinubu-led government has initiated several projects in infrastructure, security and social investment to enhance Nigeria’s global standing.

He assured that the ministry would study the report thoroughly and apply its recommendations where necessary.

The minister further urged stakeholders, including governments, civil society organisations and the private sector, to embrace the insights provided in the report for national development.
