FAAN Secures ICAO TrainAir Plus Gold Membership

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has been awarded Gold Membership status under the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) TrainAir Plus Programme.

The achievement was confirmed in Lagos on Tuesday through a statement by FAAN’s Director of Public Relations and Consumer Protection, Mr Henry Agbebire.

According to him, the recognition marks a major advancement in aviation training and capacity building within Nigeria, reflecting FAAN’s alignment with international standards.

Agbebire noted that the Gold status, which covers the period from January 1 to December 31, underscores the authority’s consistent adherence to global best practices in professional development.

He attributed the milestone to FAAN’s strong focus on human capital development, driven by the Managing Director, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku.

He further explained that the ICAO TrainAir Plus Programme evaluates organisations based on strict criteria, including instructor proficiency, quality training delivery, and robust quality assurance systems.

With the Gold Membership, FAAN has demonstrated full compliance with these requirements, reinforcing its commitment to safe, efficient, and sustainable airport operations across the country.
