Ezhiba Community Appeals to Gov. Sule for Road Construction, Inclusion in Governance

Residents of Ezhiba Community in Nasarawa State have appealed to Gov. Abdullahi Sule to construct the over five-kilometre Ezhiba–Akpata road, describing it as critical to improving the standard of living in the area.

The appeal was made by the Village Head of Ezhiba, Chief Danlami Umbugadu, when he led members of the community on a courtesy visit to the Administrator of Akun Area Administrative Council, Dr Garba Adigizi, in Akpata.

Umbugadu said the deplorable state of the road had continued to affect agricultural activities and socio-economic development in the community.

“This road is in a very bad condition. Our people and other road users suffer daily while plying it. We appeal to His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, to construct the road to improve our standard of living,” he said.

He explained that the construction of the Ezhiba–Akpata road would ease the transportation of farm produce, boost commerce, and enhance access to essential services.

The traditional ruler also appealed to the governor to employ and appoint qualified sons and daughters of the community into various government positions in the state, assuring the government of the community’s loyalty and continued support.

Also speaking during the visit, Mr Lami Martina Bako, former Speaker of Akun Development Area; Mr Charles Jatau Shari, a retired Director in the State Ministry of Education; and Mr Umbugadu Angbashim, Chairman of the community, reaffirmed their support for the governor and the Akun Area Administration.

In his response, Dr Garba Adigizi thanked the community for the visit and assured them of his commitment to partnering with them to drive development in the area.

He pledged to provide inclusive leadership aimed at promoting unity, peace, and sustainable development, adding that his administration would initiate policies and programmes with direct impact on the lives of the people.
