An economic expert, Dr Chinedu Amadi, has called on the Federal Government, private sector and investors to deepen collaboration with China to accelerate trade development and strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global market.
Amadi, who is also the President of the Organisation of Youth in International Trade and Commerce (OY-ITC), made the call on Thursday in Abuja.
He said a stronger Nigeria–China partnership would fast-track industrialisation and improve global competitiveness by providing zero-tariff market access for Nigerian goods.
According to him, enhanced collaboration between both countries would promote technology transfer in manufacturing and improve critical infrastructure such as railways and port capacity.
“This strategic partnership will facilitate local production, create jobs and support economic diversification,” he said.
Amadi urged Nigerian entrepreneurs, investors and youths to take advantage of partnership opportunities, technology transfer and educational exchange programmes to drive economic growth.
He noted that Nigeria–China collaboration could also advance agriculture, improve food security and boost crop yields.
Amadi disclosed that he recently embarked on a business and study tour of China’s commercial and agricultural hubs, visiting several cities and business districts.
“The visit provided valuable insights into business advancements and industrial development,” he said.
He described Guangzhou as a global trading hub with efficient infrastructure, advanced logistics systems and strong digital connectivity that attract investors, students and entrepreneurs from around the world.
According to him, the city hosts vibrant African trading communities, particularly Nigerians involved in cosmetics, fashion accessories, hair products and consumer goods.
He said China’s structured supply chains, rapid transaction systems and scalable operations demonstrate its strengths in mass production, quality control and export readiness.
Amadi added that China’s electronics markets showcased innovation-driven manufacturing and competitive pricing that support global trade networks.
He also highlighted China’s high-speed rail system as a reflection of technological advancement and efficient transportation that enhances economic productivity.
The economic expert cited the Longping Rice Museum as evidence of China’s commitment to agricultural research aligned with national development and food security goals.
He further noted that his visit to Hunan Agricultural University underscored the importance of collaboration between education, research and industry in improving productivity and export capacity.
Amadi described the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Building in Changsha as a strategic platform promoting manufacturing partnerships, agricultural technology transfer and investment facilitation.
“Nigeria can learn from China’s industrial clustering, logistics efficiency and policy-backed innovation strategies,” he said.
He added that organisations such as OY-ITC, DuKAN George Ltd and Trade Horizon Magazine were working to connect Nigerian investors with Chinese manufacturers and structured market opportunities.
