Emir of Ilorin Urges Umrah Pilgrims to Pray for Peace in Nigeria

The Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has urged Muslims embarking on the Lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia to pray fervently for peace and harmony in Nigeria.

The Emir made the appeal in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin and signed by his Press Secretary, Abdulazeez Arowona.

Sulu-Gambari encouraged the intending pilgrims to offer prayers for peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and the prevention of breakdown of law and order in the country.

“I urge you all to use this auspicious occasion of the Umrah pilgrimage to intensify prayers for the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, Nigeria and humanity at large,” he said.

He also called on the pilgrims to pray for global peace amid rising tension, insecurity and other social challenges around the world.

The monarch, who is also the Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, urged pilgrims from Kwara State and Nigerians in general to be good ambassadors of the country throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.

Sulu-Gambari further prayed for members of the Muslim Ummah who intend to observe Itikhaf during the last 10 days of Ramadan in mosques across the country, asking Allah to grant them ease, acceptance and abundant rewards.

He also prayed for a successful Umrah exercise for the pilgrims, wishing them sound health, divine provision and protection for their family members at home.
