The Governor of Ondo State has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims in the state, urging them to reflect the values of sacrifice, tolerance, and love during the festive period.
In a statement issued in Akure on Wednesday, the governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, congratulated the Muslim faithful and encouraged them to use the celebration as a time for renewed faith and unity.
He described Eid-el-Kabir as a significant religious festival that represents obedience, devotion, and submission to the will of God, drawing inspiration from the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim.
The governor noted that the occasion should also serve as a reminder for citizens to promote charity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace, unity, and religious harmony across Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa called on Muslims to pray for continued peace, stability, and development in both the state and the country at large.
He also encouraged residents to extend kindness to the less privileged during the celebration and to observe moderation and safety while marking the festivities.
According to him, the government remains dedicated to sustaining the peaceful environment currently enjoyed in the state.
He prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the sacrifices, prayers, and good deeds of the faithful, while granting them blessings, good health, and prosperity.
