DSK Group Chairman, Chief David Kente, Celebrates 61st Birthday by Supporting Patients and the Less Privileged in Jos

Jos, Plateau State – The Chairman of DSK Group International, Chief David Kente, marked his 61st birthday on Wednesday by doling out cash and food items to patients and indigent members of society in Jos.

Kente, represented by Mr. Nathaniel Tsokwa, a director at DSK Group, visited Plateau Specialist Hospital to provide financial assistance to patients, saying the gesture was to appreciate God’s abundant blessings and protection.

“We are here to attend to the less privileged. This is something I do every year on my birthday, as well as during Christmas and Independence Day celebrations,” Kente said. He added that similar activities were ongoing in Jalingo, Abuja, Wukari, other parts of Nigeria, and even in the Gambia.

The program at the hospital aimed to offset patients’ bills and ensure aid reached those who genuinely needed it. “We worked closely with the hospital management to identify genuine cases,” Kente explained.

Prof. Christopher Yilgwan, Chief Medical Director of Plateau Specialist Hospital, lauded Kente for his kindness. Represented by Mrs. Leah Jinan, Director of Administration, Yilgwan described the gesture as a shining example for citizens to emulate.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude. Mrs. Rhoda Daje, whose son suffered severe burns from hot water, called Kente’s support “uncommon kindness,” while Mrs. Blessing Orgak described it as a “God-send,” noting that they had run out of food and finances to meet their hospital needs.

Kente’s philanthropic efforts, he said, are motivated by a desire to empower the less privileged, with many of his businesses structured not solely for profit but to create opportunities for people to earn a living.
