The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the passing of CSP Nimrod Anaka, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Kajola Police Station, located in Odigbo Local Government Area.
The confirmation was made on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olushola, in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
While the spokesperson did not provide specific details regarding the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death, he noted that the cause would be officially determined by medical professionals.
“I can confirm the DPO, CSP Anaka, is dead. However, only a medical expert can ascertain the actual cause of death. Further information, including his age and state of origin, will be communicated to the public later,” Olushola stated.
Sources revealed that the senior officer reportedly developed a sudden illness and died while being rushed to the hospital for treatment on Tuesday.
The incident has left officers and personnel at the Kajola Police Division in mourning. According to a source, the deceased’s remains have been taken to a mortuary.
