Defence Minister Urges New Service Chiefs to Adopt Unified Strategy, Take Decisive Action

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has called for a unified strategy and decisive measures from the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff and the three Service Chiefs to strengthen national security efforts.

Badaru made the appeal during a courtesy visit by the service chiefs, led by Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, to the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday in Abuja.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Minister’s Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali.

The statement noted that the meeting was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Adm. Idi Abbas; and Chief of the Air Staff, AVM Sunday Aneke.

According to Ali, the visit reflected the minister’s commitment to fostering teamwork and strategic alignment among the Armed Forces.

“It also marks the beginning of a renewed focus on coordinated planning and decisive operations to safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty and advance national interests under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu,” he added.
