A 43-year-old man, Rasak Odobudu, was on Monday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over allegations of assault, issuing threats, and disturbing public peace.
The defendant, arraigned on a four-count charge, was said to have conspired with others still at large to commit the offences on July 15 at Oribamiwa Estate Phase II, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
According to the prosecution, led by SP Josephine Ikhayere, Odobudu and his accomplices allegedly attacked two men, Murtala Shakirulahi and Lawal Surajudeen, leaving them with facial injuries and other bodily harm.
He was also accused of threatening to kill the victims after they allegedly declined to give him money at the entrance of the estate.
The prosecutor said Odobudu’s actions disrupted peace within the community and posed a threat to residents.
She explained that the offences contravened sections 411, 173, 56, and 168 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
Magistrate L. A. Owolabi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties in like sum, subject to proper verification.
The matter was subsequently adjourned until Oct. 7, 2025, for continuation of hearing.
