A 21-year-old man, Rahmon Olayiwola, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over the alleged theft of electric meters valued at N600,000.
Olayiwola, whose address was not disclosed, was charged with conspiracy and stealing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Insp. Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 20, 2025, at about 5:30 p.m. at Oluyole Estate, Ibadan.
Folaranmi alleged that Olayiwola, alongside others still at large, stole two electric meters valued at N600,000, belonging to one Kunle Yusuf.
He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Feb. 16 for hearing.Tools
