CNS Spikers Eye International Competitions After Dominating 2025 Volleyball Premier League

The CNS Spikers Volleyball Team is setting its sights on international competitions following a dominant performance in the 2025 Comptroller-General of Customs Volleyball Premier League, where they retained the top spot. Navy Capt. Mark Abashi, Chairman of the club, said the team is committed to sustaining its league dominance and seizing opportunities that enhance performance, exposure, and competitiveness.

CNS Spikers made history with the men’s team finishing first and the women’s team securing second place overall. In the women’s category, Nigeria Customs Service topped with 63 sets won, while CNS Spikers women recorded 54 sets won and 51 points. For the men, CNS Spikers achieved 63 sets won, 18 losses, and 60 points, with Nigeria Customs Service men finishing second.

Abashi attributed the team’s success to discipline, teamwork, dedication, and prayers, emphasizing that lessons learned will guide continuous improvement. While he declined to reveal the team’s weaknesses, he confirmed that strategies are in place to strengthen key areas.

He also commended the Chief of Naval Staff for unwavering support, noting that the Nigerian Navy Volleyball Team is prepared to represent the country in CAVB competitions and other international opportunities. “We will honour any opportunity given to the Nigerian Navy Volleyball Team,” Abashi affirmed.
