CAN Donates Relief Items to Orphanages, Special Needs Homes in Ibadan

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Oyo State has donated bags of rice to several orphanages and homes for physically challenged students in Ibadan as part of efforts to support vulnerable groups.

The association’s Chairman and Secretary in the state, Dr. Elisha Ogundiya and Very Rev. Tope Owolabi, presented the relief materials to beneficiaries on Tuesday in Ibadan.

The homes visited include Oluyole Cheshire Home, Bam Dell Disabilities and Orphanage Home, Omoyemi Special Basic School, Fahpac Shelter, and Adamasingba Sports Centre for the Physically Challenged.

Ogundiya said the donation was aimed at providing assistance in view of the current economic challenges in the country.

According to him, the initiative was designed to reassure orphans and physically challenged individuals that they are valued members of society and cared for by the association.

“As part of our agenda in Oyo State, we also visited five locations in the Ogbomosho zone to extend similar support, and we plan to reach other zones as well,” he said.

The CAN chairman urged well-meaning individuals and high net worth members of society to extend love and support to the less privileged and give them a sense of belonging.

He also commended organisations and philanthropists who have continued to assist the needy and encouraged Nigerians, particularly Christians, to remain law-abiding and pray for peace, unity and progress in Oyo State and the country at large.Tools
