Bago Reaffirms Commitment to Equity as Niger APC Elects New Executives

Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has reiterated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration remains committed to the principles of equity, justice and fairness to ensure the continued progress of the state and the party.

Bago made the remarks on Tuesday during the state congress of the APC held to elect new leaders to pilot the party’s affairs in Niger State.

The governor described the exercise as the best and most peaceful congress conducted in the country and urged the newly affirmed executive members to remain united and work together as one family.

Addressing concerns over officials whose names were removed from the list, Bago explained that the decision was taken in good faith, noting that many of them had served for about 15 years and their tenure had expired. He assured them that they would be compensated with appointments representing the state.

Bago also pledged to maintain an open-door policy, encouraging party members with genuine grievances to approach him for amicable resolution in the overall interest of the APC.

He commended members of the National Assembly, the Congress Committee and other party stakeholders for ensuring a peaceful and transparent nomination process devoid of rancour.

Earlier, APC North Central Vice-Chairman Muazu Rijau thanked the governor for ensuring that the ward, local government and state congresses were peaceful and successful.

In separate remarks, Senator Abubakar Bello, Aliyu Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture, and Senator Sani Musa affirmed that the APC in Niger State remained united and committed to fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities.

Among those affirmed by the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Danladi Abubakar, were Aminu Musa Bobi as Chairman and Dr Adamu Gane as Secretary. Others include Mohammed Abba as Treasurer, Musa Sarkinkaji as Publicity Secretary and Adamu Abdulkarim as Financial Secretary, among others.
