Army Arrests Suspected Fake Major-General in Kaduna

Security operatives attached to Operation FANSAN YAMMA have detained a man accused of falsely presenting himself as a retired senior military officer in Kaduna State.

According to a military operational update released on Thursday, the suspect was apprehended by troops of the 312 Artillery Regiment stationed at the Strike Force Base in Sabo.

The report stated that the arrest was carried out at about 9:14 a.m. following intelligence and operational surveillance by the troops.

Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly posed as retired Major-General M.T. Ibrahim, prompting his arrest for further questioning.

Military authorities disclosed that the suspect remains in custody while initial investigations are being conducted to establish the facts surrounding the case.

The report further indicated that arrangements were being made to hand over the suspect to the appropriate security agency for comprehensive investigation and any subsequent legal action.

Authorities are also working to determine the extent of the alleged impersonation and whether additional individuals may have been involved in the scheme.

The development underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat impersonation, protect the integrity of military institutions and ensure that individuals involved in fraudulent activities are brought to justice.
