Armed Forces College conducts drill, advises residents against panic

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, has announced plans to conduct its final outdoor field training exercise for Junior Course 101 of 2026, known as Exercise Ubiak-Isin.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the college Public Relations Officer, Maj. Emmanuel Onoja.

According to the statement, the exercise is scheduled to take place between May 18 and May 22 within the Labar-Dunki and Wazata axis of Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Onoja explained that the training is designed to evaluate the student officers’ leadership abilities, physical endurance, command and control skills, and their application of tactical operations.

He added that participants would also undergo assessments in areas such as unconventional warfare, counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency, in line with current security realities.

Residents of communities around the designated exercise areas were advised not to be alarmed by the movement of troops, military vehicles and equipment, as well as possible sounds of gunfire and controlled explosions during the period.

The college assured that adequate safety and security measures had been put in place and urged the public to avoid restricted zones throughout the exercise.

It further encouraged residents in nearby communities to continue their normal activities while reporting any suspicious incidents to relevant authorities.

The statement called for the understanding and cooperation of the public, noting that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to develop competent military leaders for the nation’s Armed Forces.
