Residents of Kwali Area Council have been urged to rally behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate, Mr Nuhu Kwali, as preparations intensify for the forthcoming FCT Area Council elections.
The appeal was made by the FCT Renewed Hope Coordinator, Abdullahi Candido, during a grassroots sensitisation exercise carried out by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors across communities in Kwali on Tuesday.
The FCT Area Council polls are scheduled to hold on Feb. 21 across the six councils of the territory.
Candido explained that the outreach was designed to engage men, women and various support groups, encouraging them to participate actively in the electoral process and ensure their votes are counted.
He described the large turnout of supporters during the visit as reassuring, noting that it reflected public satisfaction with the ongoing initiatives of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the FCT.
According to him, the level of enthusiasm shown by residents gives confidence that the APC will record a strong showing in Kwali when voters go to the polls on election day.
Speaking separately, the Renewed Hope Ambassador for Kwali Area Council, Mr Jibril Yewuti, also appealed to residents to mobilise support for the APC candidate, saying the move would accelerate development in the council.
Yewuti pointed to ongoing road construction projects in the area as evidence that the current administration prioritises the welfare and needs of the people, assuring residents that their votes would make a difference.
Meanwhile, the APC vice chairmanship candidate, Hajiya Abdullahi Ramatu, thanked the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for their visit and expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the election.
She stated that the APC is fully prepared for victory in Kwali and expressed optimism that the party would build on the momentum ahead of future electoral contests, including those scheduled for 2027.
