Abuja, June 13, 2026 – A political support group backing President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement efforts in support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election.
The commitment was made by the National Coordinator of the Legislators’ and the Executives’ Presidential Support Committee (TLEGATES-PSC), Mr Elijah Ettah, during a Democracy Day media briefing in Abuja.
Ettah, who also serves as Senior Legislative Aide on Political Matters to the President of the Senate, disclosed that the committee had activated its operational structures and outreach networks across Ekiti State to support the APC’s campaign activities ahead of the June 20 poll.
He praised President Bola Tinubu and the APC national leadership for establishing the party’s National Campaign Council, describing the decision as timely and crucial to the party’s electoral strategy.
According to him, the committee is prepared to deploy extensive voter education initiatives, stakeholder engagement programmes and grassroots mobilisation activities aimed at boosting support for the APC candidate.
Ettah stated that the group’s structures had already been fully activated across the state to complement ongoing campaign efforts and enhance voter participation.
Speaking at the event, the committee’s spokesman and Head of Strategic Missions, Dr Ozi-Raji Williams, said the organisation had built a strong presence across Ekiti and remained committed to contributing to the party’s success at the polls.
Williams announced that the committee would organise stakeholder meetings and media engagements in Ekiti on June 16 and June 18 to unveil its election support initiatives.
He explained that the events would provide an avenue for members of both the APC National Campaign Council and the Ekiti Governorship Campaign Council to interact with residents, discuss the importance of the election and highlight the achievements of the state government.
Also speaking, the committee’s Director of Diaspora Affairs and Co-Secretary, Mr Moses Owharo, reaffirmed support for Governor Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
Owharo said the current administration had recorded progress in infrastructure development, economic expansion, youth empowerment, investment promotion and improvements in residents’ welfare.
He expressed optimism that the governor would secure another term in office and encouraged eligible voters to support the APC during the election.
The group also commended Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who serves as Co-Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council, along with other members of the council, for their commitment to the campaign.
Ettah expressed confidence in the party’s chances at the polls and reiterated the committee’s dedication to encouraging political participation, strengthening democratic engagement and supporting ongoing development initiatives across the country.
