The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of the state, to embrace unity, peace and renewed commitment to nation-building in the New Year.
The Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, made the call in a New Year message issued on Wednesday to welcome 2026.
Ojelabi urged citizens to rally round governments at all levels in order to strengthen the country and secure a better future for coming generations.
He extended warm greetings to Lagos residents, party members and leaders, expressing hope that the New Year would usher in prosperity and peace.
Reflecting on the outgoing year, Ojelabi described 2025 as a period marked by trials and challenges, but expressed optimism that 2026 would bring renewed hope and fulfilment.
According to him, the transition into the New Year signals a fresh beginning where aspirations can be realised and expectations renewed.
The APC chairman called on Nigerians to demonstrate stronger commitment to national development, stressing that collective responsibility remained essential to building a more prosperous nation.
He said Nigerians must work together to make the country better for future generations, noting that a new Nigeria was achievable through unity, dedication and shared purpose.
Ojelabi also commended President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, saying their leadership provided a solid platform for the realisation of the party’s vision.
He reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to peace, prosperity and security across the country, adding that the party believed in the capacity of the current administration to move Nigeria forward.
The party chairman further urged citizens to cooperate with the Tinubu administration, which he said had shown the capacity and commitment to lay a solid foundation for national growth.
He called on Nigerians to put politics aside and unite against threats to national progress, including insecurity, corruption and economic sabotage.
Ojelabi advised citizens to remain vigilant and report wrongdoing whenever they encounter it, emphasising that bandits, economic saboteurs, corrupt officials and tax evaders were enemies of national development.
He concluded by praying for unity, peace and divine favour for Nigeria in the New Year.
