The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to use the Christmas season to demonstrate genuine love and kindness to one another, regardless of how small such gestures may seem.
Soludo made the call in a Christmas goodwill message issued in Awka.
She said the birth of Jesus Christ underscores the values of love, selflessness and compassion, noting that the true essence of Christmas lies in the heart of the giver, not in the size or value of the gift.
“Whatever you can give to make someone’s Christmas memorable, do not hesitate to give,” she said.
“Christ’s birth teaches us to love, even if it makes the littlest of impacts.”
She encouraged people to extend acts of kindness to neighbours, friends and even strangers, stressing that sincere love has the power to spread joy and hope during the festive season.
“It is about the heart that gives, not the weight or size of what you are giving. Show genuine love and kindness to that neighbour, friend or stranger,” she said.
Soludo also advised citizens to celebrate responsibly, while remaining mindful of their health and personal goals.
“As you merry, remember to stay healthy and focused. Merry Christmas to all,” she added.
