A security adviser in Sokoto State has called on residents to remain alert and adopt stronger personal and community security awareness in their daily activities.
The Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Security Matters, Ahmed Abdul Usman (rtd), made the appeal on Monday during a Sallah visit to community leaders in Gwadabawa Local Government Area.
During the visit, he met with the Local Government Chairman and the District Head, Sarkin Gobir of Gwadabawa, Lawal Zayyana, at his hometown.
He described security as a collective responsibility, stressing that residents must remain observant and promptly report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.
Usman assured the public that the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu is committed to strengthening peace and improving the state’s security framework.
He noted that ongoing measures include closer coordination with security agencies, increased community engagement, and targeted strategies to address emerging threats.
The adviser also appealed to traditional leaders, youth groups, and community stakeholders to support government efforts by promoting unity, discouraging crime, and encouraging peaceful coexistence.
As part of his Sallah outreach, he visited a hospital in Gwadabawa, where he provided financial assistance to patients and prayed for their recovery.
