Agency Urges Adamawa Youths to Leverage Federal Opportunities

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on young people in Adamawa State to take advantage of Federal Government initiatives designed to support their education, skills, and future career growth.

Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, made the appeal during a sensitisation campaign on government policies and programmes in Yola on Friday. He was represented at the event by the agency’s Director of Special Duties, Mr. David Akoji.

Issa-Onilu explained that several programmes have been rolled out to empower youths, including the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, National Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), Social Safety Net, Renewed Hope Infrastructure Fund, and the Industrial Training Fund.

He noted that some students had already begun accessing loans under the education fund, which are repayable after graduation once beneficiaries secure employment.

Part of the enlightenment drive, he added, also includes campaigns on national values for secondary and tertiary students, flood prevention, identity management, national symbols, and security awareness to improve public safety.

He announced that NOA would soon launch grassroots engagements across the 36 states, the FCT, and the 774 local government areas to give Nigerians a platform to interact directly with government, ask questions, and seek clarification on policies.

The NOA boss further urged media organisations to support the agency’s enlightenment efforts and called on the Adamawa State government to partner with NOA in creating more opportunities for youths in the state.

Adamawa State Director of NOA, Richard Bala-Dangari, said the sensitisation exercise would provide citizens with accurate information about government programmes and encourage them to embrace positive values and lawful conduct.
