Afri Invoice has been granted a licence by the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) to operate as an Access Point Provider (APP), a development that enhances the company’s role in supporting businesses with electronic invoicing and tax compliance requirements.
In a statement issued on Monday, the company’s founder, Mark Odenore, said the approval comes at a time when Nigeria is accelerating the adoption of mandatory e-invoicing across various sectors.
According to him, the licence authorises Afri Invoice to provide secure connectivity between businesses and the NRS Merchant Buyer Solution platform, enabling organisations to validate, digitally sign and transmit electronic invoices in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Odenore explained that the latest approval follows the company’s earlier recognition as an NRS Systems Integrator, giving Afri Invoice the capacity to offer a broader range of compliance-related services.
He described the achievement as a significant milestone for the company and an important contribution to simplifying tax compliance processes for businesses across the country.
“This approval represents a major step forward for Afri Invoice,” he said.
“Our goal has always been to make compliance easier, more affordable and more efficient for businesses, regardless of their size.
“With this licence, we are well positioned to support organisations as they adapt to Nigeria’s evolving digital tax administration framework.”
Odenore noted that the NRS e-invoicing programme is intended to enhance transparency, improve revenue collection and strengthen accountability through real-time reporting of business transactions.
He added that Afri Invoice’s combined capabilities as both a Systems Integrator and Access Point Provider would allow it to deliver comprehensive support services, ranging from enterprise system integration to the secure exchange of electronic invoices.
According to him, this integrated approach will help businesses meet changing tax obligations while streamlining their compliance processes.
Beyond regulatory compliance, Odenore said e-invoicing can help organisations improve operational efficiency, reduce manual paperwork and strengthen financial oversight.
He added that businesses adopting digital invoicing solutions are also likely to benefit from improved audit preparedness and better visibility into financial data.
Afri Invoice offers a range of services designed to support electronic invoicing adoption, including integration with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, automated compliance workflows, real-time invoice validation, digital certification management and reporting tools for finance and compliance teams.
Odenore encouraged businesses to begin preparing for the wider rollout of the NRS e-invoicing programme by onboarding early and familiarising themselves with the new requirements.
The company provides digital invoicing and tax compliance solutions through a secure API-based infrastructure built to align with NRS regulations and internationally recognised interoperability standards, helping organisations automate invoicing processes and maintain regulatory compliance.
