The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, has announced plans to commence Exercise Haske Biyu 2025, a three-week training programme centred on family and national security. The event is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 15, and will run until October 3, 2025, at the Jaji Military Cantonment.
In a statement on Sunday, the college’s Public Relations Officer, Lt.-Col. Victor Olukoya, explained that the exercise is designed to strengthen collaboration among multiple agencies through capacity-building initiatives aimed at addressing internal security challenges and low-intensity conflicts.
This year’s theme, “Family and National Security”, underscores the vital role of the family unit in ensuring peace, stability, and the overall security of the nation. The opening ceremony will be graced by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as the Special Guest of Honour.
Olukoya highlighted that the programme will draw senior officers from the Armed Forces, ministries, departments, agencies, the media, non-governmental organisations, and other strategic partners. Participants will explore areas such as conflict resolution, soft power strategies, and counter-insurgency operations, while also engaging in discussions and presentations on internal security mechanisms.
The exercise is structured into four modules: strategic lectures, operational planning exercises, case studies, and practical field demonstrations. A special feature, “A Day in the Life of a Soldier”, will allow media representatives and select non-military participants to gain first-hand experience of military life.
According to Olukoya, the initiative provides a unique platform for knowledge-sharing, inter-agency cooperation, and the development of strategies aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s internal security architecture.
