Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are laying a strong foundation for a revitalised and prosperous Nigeria.
Abiodun made the remark after reading the ninth lesson at the 2025 Christmas carol organised by the Ogun State government in Abeokuta on Monday.
He stated that the President’s policies have contributed to national economic stability and inclusive growth.
According to the governor, the Renewed Hope Agenda has had a positive impact on the nation’s economy and overall development.
Abiodun called for continued support for the President, urging Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and shared prosperity to build a brighter future for Ogun and the country at large.
He noted that Christmas brings hope and joy, even amid global and domestic challenges.
“The season is more than a date; it reminds us of God’s unfailing love and calls us to care for the needy and comfort the lonely,” Abiodun said.
“Worshippers should demonstrate Christ-like love through acts of kindness, especially toward the less privileged.”
The governor also highlighted Ogun’s long-standing reputation for religious tolerance and social harmony.
He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to ensure a safe and joyful festive season.
Earlier, Pastor Tunde Bakare of Citadel Global Community Church delivered a sermon titled ‘The Best Gift Ever’, emphasising that Jesus brought good news to humanity and that Christmas remains the greatest gift one can receive.
“After celebrating Christ’s birth, we must return to our schools and communities to continue His works,” Bakare said.
The event was attended by notable figures including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Senator Solomon Adeola, and traditional rulers.
