Abiodun Praises Tinubu’s Leadership After Release of Abducted Niger Students

Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and determination following the release of 130 abducted students of St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri, Niger State.

Abiodun, in a statement issued on Sunday in Abeokuta, described the development as a victory over evil forces, noting that 100 students had earlier been released, bringing the total number freed to 230.

He said the successful rescue fulfilled President Tinubu’s pledge to ensure the students’ safe return and had restored Nigerians’ confidence in the government’s ability to address security challenges.

According to the governor, the steady release of abducted persons reflects the administration’s commitment to confronting insecurity head-on.

“It is heartwarming that the students and their parents will celebrate the yuletide together after such a terrible ordeal,” Abiodun said, urging security agencies to ensure that those responsible are prosecuted in accordance with the law.

He added that the incident tested the resilience of the Papiri community, parents and the people of Niger State, describing the outcome as a triumph over adversity.

Abiodun further lauded Tinubu’s resolve to tackle kidnapping and terrorism, noting that sustained efforts would restore both local and international confidence in Nigeria’s security architecture.
