PFN Mourns Legendary Gospel Singer Ron Kenoly at 81

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has paid glowing tribute to legendary American gospel singer and worship leader, Ron Kenoly, who passed away at the age of 81.

The death of the renowned gospel icon was confirmed on Tuesday, prompting an outpouring of tributes from gospel music communities, ministers and Christians around the world.

In a post on his Facebook page, PFN President, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, described the late singer as a true worshipper who lived his life to the glory of God.

According to him, Kenoly walked in deep spiritual understanding, was filled with the Holy Spirit, grounded in the Scriptures, and profoundly impactful through both his words and music.

“He carried the presence of God wherever he ministered, lifting hearts and nations into an atmosphere of worship and reverence,” Wale-Oke said.

He recalled hosting Kenoly on several occasions in Nigeria and internationally, noting that the gospel singer consistently poured himself out in service to God and the Christian faith.

Though expressing deep grief over his passing, the PFN president said the fellowship took comfort in the assurance that a life devoted to faithful service to God is never in vain, adding that Kenoly’s songs, legacy and influence would continue across generations.

Wale-Oke also commiserated with the family of the late singer, praying that God would comfort and strengthen them during the difficult time.
