The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has successfully reunited a missing 13-year-old boy with his family at the command headquarters in Kano.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Kano.
According to him, the boy was found on Jan. 20, 2026, wandering around Kwankwasiyya City along Zaria Road in Kano. He said the minor, who is of Fulani extraction, hails from Dogon Hawa village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Idris-Abdullahi explained that the boy was taken into the custody of the NSCDC Gender Unit, where he was kept for three days while efforts were made to locate his family.
“The parents were eventually traced to Dogon Hawa village and duly informed of the whereabouts of their child,” he said.
He added that the boy’s father, Malam Saleh, accompanied by other family members, later visited the NSCDC headquarters to take custody of the child.
The family commended the NSCDC for its swift response and humanitarian intervention, and assured that adequate measures would be taken to ensure the child’s safety and prevent a similar incident in the future.
