The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has confirmed that one person died in a road accident involving two trucks at Koro-Otun, near Osi Roundabout in Ota, Ogun State.
The Ota Divisional Commander of TRACE, Mr Salai Hammed, disclosed this on Wednesday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota.
Hammed said the accident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday and involved a Benz Hiab truck loaded with iron, with registration number EKY 595 YR, and another truck without a registration number.
According to him, an eyewitness reported that the Benz truck lost control due to brake failure and rammed into a containerised truck.
“The motorboy in the Benz truck died on the spot, and the corpse has been released to the family for burial,” Hammed said.
He advised drivers to avoid speeding and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before using the highways.
