The screening committee of the Accord Party has officially cleared Governor Ademola Adeleke for the party’s governorship primary, taking place today in Osogbo.
In a statement on Wednesday, Mr. Ibe Thankgodd, chairman of the screening committee and National Organising Secretary of the party, said Adeleke had fulfilled all requirements for nomination and participation. He added that the committee cleared the governor as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket and completed all necessary documentation with the relevant authorities.
Thankgodd described Adeleke as a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant” of the party, presenting him with the certificate of clearance.
In response, Adeleke expressed gratitude to the screening committee and the party leadership, affirming his readiness to lead Accord to victory in 2026.
“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” he said.
The governor, who resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on December 2, revealed that he had joined the Accord Party more than a month ago to pursue re-election.
