The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced N8.2 million as the official fare for the 2026 hajj.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Danbappa, disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, on Saturday in Kano.
According to Danbappa, the fare was set in line with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and applies to all intending pilgrims from the state.
He noted that those who had earlier deposited N8.5 million would be refunded the difference after submitting a formal request to the Board.
The Director-General further reminded prospective pilgrims that the payment deadline remains December 31, 2025, and urged them to complete their payments before the date to guarantee their slots.
