Pastor Rotimi Nathaniel of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of Grace, Region 24, Kogi State, has expressed optimism that Nigeria will soon surmount its economic challenges.
Nathaniel gave the assurance on Sunday during the thanksgiving service of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Chapter, held at the City of Grace Regional Headquarters in Lokoja.
Delivering a sermon titled “Arise to the Next Level,” he said the policies and programmes introduced by President Bola Tinubu would eventually bring relief and joy to Nigerians.
Citing 1 Samuel 1:18–19, Nathaniel stressed that God had not abandoned Nigeria but would deliver the country from its current security and economic difficulties.
He noted that, despite challenges such as kidnapping, banditry, ritual practices, and cultism—described as satanic influences—Nigeria continues to stand firm and resilient.
“In spite of all these, who can battle with the Lord? He is mindful of Nigeria and will deliver her from pain and poverty,” he declared.
The cleric added that God’s mercy would strengthen the nation, frustrate its enemies, and uplift citizens through renewed prosperity and unity.
Nathaniel also emphasized that the spirit of Christ is one of giving, urging Nigerians to support one another to ease hardship and restore joy in struggling homes. He called on wealthy individuals and corporate organizations to extend generosity to the less privileged, saying such acts bring healing to communities.
According to him, with the combination of government policies, citizens’ prayers, and love for one another, Nigeria’s economy will recover for the benefit of all.
He congratulated journalists on their Press Week and prayed for God’s continued protection as they fulfill their role as the Fourth Estate.
In his remarks, the NUJ State Chairman, Mallam Seidu Ademu, expressed gratitude to the church leadership for hosting the union’s thanksgiving service.
